Who is responsible

fix-my-deck (fix-my-deck.com) is responsible for the data described here. Contact: hello [at] fix-my-deck.com.

What we collect and why

• The file you upload and what we read from it (text, numbers, slide pictures): to make your free preview and, after an order, the redesigned deck, the comparison and the fidelity report.
• Your account: email address and password (stored only as a one-way hash), and your login sessions: so that only you can open your orders and downloads.
• Orders and payments: what you ordered, the amount and Stripe's payment reference. Card details go to Stripe and never reach this site.
• Internet address (IP) and a random browser ID, when you upload a file or log in: to allow one free preview per day and to protect the service against abuse.
• Visit counts, without cookies: per day, which pages are opened and which site a visitor came from. A visitor is told apart only within one day, by a one-way code made from the internet address and browser with a random key that is deleted after the day. No internet address is stored for this.

We use your data to provide the service you ask for (contract), to keep the service secure and count its use (legitimate interest), and to keep accounting records (legal obligation). We do not sell data, show advertising or build profiles.

Who processes data for us

• Anthropic (USA): the AI model that builds the redesign.
• OpenAI (USA): the independent AI review of the finished slides.
• Stripe: card payments.
• Railway: hosting; the service runs on servers in the Netherlands.

Your files are not published and not used to train AI models. Where a provider is in the USA, the transfer relies on the Swiss–US and EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, and otherwise on standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

• Free previews you don't buy: deleted 7 days after upload.
• Ordered decks (your original, the redesign, the delivery pages): deleted 30 days after delivery, or earlier when you delete them on your orders page.
• Internet addresses: removed from upload records after 30 days and from the security log after 90 days.
• Visit counts: kept only as daily totals.
• Your account: until you delete it on your account page.
• Order and payment records: as long as accounting law requires (up to 10 years).

Cookies

Only cookies the site needs to work: a browser ID (form protection and the free-preview limit, set when you open the upload page or log in), your login session, and the link to your own previews. No tracking or advertising cookies.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to its use and receive a copy. You can delete your files and your account yourself on your account page; for everything else write to hello [at] fix-my-deck.com. You can also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner or to the data protection authority of your EU country.
